10·29 days agoFYI I reduced my power draw on my server by setting connection limits in qBittorrent so that may help to reduce it further (even at idle). I need to investigate my bios too, just keep forgetting.
More importantly for the future success of Linux was that the X11 system was ported to it, making 1992 the year of the Linux desktop.
lmao
Good read, thanks!

Yeah, your meaning of regressive is actually the meaning of reactionary.
, or to restore traditional onesNope, that’s regression. Easy mistake to make when everyone calling themselves conservative for the past half century have actually been regressive.
Isn’t that reactionary/reactionism?

91·1 month agoRegardless of your opinion, attack the idea not the person. You know nothing about the person who posted so you made some pretty big assumptions that they a) do nothing to help and b) are even from the USA. That said, your comment is pretty typical internet fare that I’d just roll my eyes at and downvote.
The mod did the same of course, replying with an ad hominem.
Little bit of YDI (a temp ban maybe) but also PTB for the 74 year ban which is an overreaction IMO (
maybe BPRI just saw someone else banned for 74 years from that comm for saying idiotic which is apparently ableist lol).

4·1 month agoCiv V is in that sweet spot between not being VI/VII and not quite showing it’s age yet. It’s got some great mods like the LotR stuff and Faerun. IMO for fantasy 4x, Warlock II with the Renaissance overhaul mod is best though.

2·1 month agoI’m playing FH4 atm and I feel that! The combination of NPCs always talking, the UI being locked while they do and the fact you can’t lower the speech volume below 1/10 is pretty fucking annoying.
I think FH5 was a bit better in that regard but it’s been a while so I may be mis-remembering.

2·2 months agoI’ve been floating between lots of games in my library the last month or so with nothing really keeping my interest.
Something has finally stuck though… having my 2nd go at Atelier Ryza, enjoying it much more this time. First time through I wasn’t so keen on the crafting but this time I’m leaning into it and it’s far better as a result.
Playing Forza Horizon 4 on the side. I really love the setting but damn are the NPCs annoying constantly talking at you and taking control of the UI away as they do. It’ll be much better once I’ve unlocked everything and they shut up!

5·2 months agoSo for music, MusicBee
FYI for anyone on Linux, Strawberry music player is IMO closest to Musicbee.

I’m about 18hrs into Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter remake now. They’ve really done a phenomenal job with it. The recreation of the locations in 3D is spot on and the new battle system is a great improvement IMO. The English voiceover is excellent too.
