A foreign power propping up a militant to destabilize their enemy can work, or have massive unintended consequences. Refer to Lenin being sent to Tsarist Russia on a sealed train.

Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•Ukraine Stares Down Barrel of Population Collapse
6·6 months agoIt’s not a problem unique to Ukraine. Post-war, a lot of countries will be there as an example on how to manage population decline, or to serve as warnings on what not to do. Most countries around the world now have birth rates below replacement. Some prosperous countries are bringing in immigrants, temporarily providing more fuel to the population pyramid scheme. But the reality is that the entire world is going to hit peak human population soon. Media needs to stop thinking of human population decline as a bad thing.
Elon Musk likes to praise Putin and in return, Putin fired a missile SpaceX style.

The world has hit 1.5 degrees of heating on average, but the heat is not evenly distributed. If you’re in the northern US states or Canada where you used to have to wear a jacket, the climate has already heated up 2-3 degrees. In the Arctic more like 4.
He also believed your soul carries on after death and enters a new body, possibly even an animal’s.
The story that he was killed because he refused to run away through a field of beans is probably fake. There’s a trope of ancient philosophers getting ironic deaths:
-
Archimedes being killed because he was absorbed in his geometry (he told the attacking soldier “don’t disturb my circles!”)
-
Diogenes was notorious for rejecting social norms and acting dog-like. “Cynic” comes from the Greek word for “dog”. He died of food poisoning after eating raw octopus, showing you can’t really live like a dog.

2·8 months agoGreenwashing everywhere on this subject: a lot of compostable bags, coffee cups, etc are technically compostable if the municipality has the right kind of equipment. But often the municipality doesn’t have the means, or the compostable claims are bullshit in the first place.

Looks awl right.
