UK Politics@feddit.uk•The penalty for disagreeing with government policy on Palestine is 14 Years in prison
21·5 months agoI’m not convinced, I couldn’t get to the end of that video, it’s a load of out of context ramblings. Yes he might not be a saint, but we’re also talking about a period that was 100 years ago, we can appreciate a novel without worshipping the author. In the same way we can dislike it without slamming him, I think calling him a ‘pathetic man’ is a bit much.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media
2·6 months agoI agree it’s been more stumbling boulders than blocks so far, but I’m more optimistic. Even if it fails I think even just their effort can encourage more people that there can be another way, maybe the eventual answer will come from a different new party, cos like you say Labour is showing they aren’t the answer.
I rarely bother giving media any attention, let alone let it influence my opinion. What frustates me is when other people do.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media
4·6 months agoI didn’t say anything was going well either. They’re barely off the ground and the amount of articles slamming them is ridiculous. We live in a so called democracy, so let’s let a new democratic party form and vote if we believe in them and their plan. I’m bored of this soap opera style journalism.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media
73·6 months agoDoes it? Or do the media continue to attempt to drive that belief into the public because they’re funded by other parties?
Oh look, another media outlet putting down Corbyn…
Why is allowing vehicles running on alternative fuels that have 0 emmissions a bad thing? Why are we all hell bent on pursuing EVs, inisisting that’s the solution and just ignoring all their downsides?
But then it wouldn’t be funny. I don’t think this is meant to be taken too literally.

Not condoning anything the guy in blue does, but he’s facing a ticket machine and is grabbed by 3 cops and has his neck shoved down.

Buy European@feddit.uk•Know before you buy: starting today, EU’s new labels shake up the smartphone market
14·11 months agoI genuinely can’t figure this out. I found an iPhone label with 1000x, which seems obvious. So what the hell is XY00? Everything else in the image is an example value.
Edit: right reading through this thread it seems its 100x the value, so XY represents a number, e.g. 15, then it would be 1500 cycles. The iPhone label I found must be from an earlier test or something. I like the rest but this seems unclear.

I got so bored of throwing out ones when the battery had gone. My dentist didn’t have any complaints last time I went, but guess we’ll see in a few years if it was the right decision!

51·1 year agoSure nuclear waste is a problem, but there are ways to dispose of it. I can’t see why it can’t be a long term solution.

42·1 year agoRight, but you haven’t really answered the question. Why isn’t it a long term solution? Sure geothermal is great, but there’s space for both, amongst others.

News@lemmy.world•Video shows officers dragged [NFL Star] Tyreek Hill out of his car after he put his window back up
2·2 years agoAfter they dragged him out he appeared to be on the phone to someone to make them aware of the situation. With the amount of police brutality and racism in America I don’t blame that reaction. Their actions here only justify it, too.

That man looks so unwell.
The desperation to become a leader is a massive red flag that they shouldn’t be a leader.
