Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I didn't need to login this badly anywayEnglish
3·2 years agoI wonder if it’s a mobile thing because I have the same issue on my tablet (which I completely gave up using for Walmart) but never on my PC.

I do the same. I use FeedBro (a Firefox add-in) on the pc and Feeder on Android.

Technology@lemmy.world•Walmart, Costco and other companies rethink self-checkout, some stores removing themEnglish
3·3 years agoIt’s different here (at Walmart at least), they leave all their reusable bags at the self checkout where you can just buy them. But there is a lot of staff and the area is like a bullpen, so there is only one exit and there are employees looking at the carts’ contents.
As for the bags, for sure it’s a contentious topic. And I agree with you. As I mentioned in another reply, I see a lot of the sturdier reusable bags for sale at thrift store, they have to roll them up and put them in a bin they have so many…

1·3 years agoYes, and also for the compost. I used to store a few as well but they are so thin now, it’s not worth it.

1·3 years agoI agree. I have a drawer full and a bunch in my car. I see a lot of them for sale for a buck at thrift stores, it’s kind of funny and sad.

10·3 years agoWhere I live (Montréal, Canada) plastic bags are banned everywhere. You either bring your own or buy a reusable at the cash. Some places (like grocery stores) also sell paper bags. You get used to it. If you have a car you leave a bunch of reusables in the trunk, if you don’t you just have to remember to bring one with you. The also sell some super thin ones you can carry in your pockets that are sturdy and large enough for a small run at the grocery store.
Wow je ne connaissais pas cette chaîne, instant sub, merci!!

Québec@lemmy.ca•La réaction de Paul St-Pierre Plamondon à la victoire d’Émilise Lessard-Therrien!
2·3 years agoAbsolument.

71·3 years agoConsidering the state the world is in, I’m at a point where news like this leave me totally indifferent. I used to feel concerned about privacy and freedom of choice when it comes to consumer goods but right now, with this company? I couldn’t give less of a shit.
If you are rich enough to buy one of these abominations, you are rich enough to put pressure on the manufacturer to tell them you are not ok with this (if in fact that is the case).
SmartTube is amazing. The dev is super reactive, there are updates almost daily. I watch YT mostly on my TV, I’m really thankful it exists!
Works fine here, thanks, interesting read!
I can’t believe anyone looking at this would think it’s real, wtf

5·3 years agoJe suis d’accord avec toi.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is this the right community? I have a helpdesk interview next week and I dont know if my attire looks good or ridiculously goofy.
21·3 years agoYou look great! I’ve interviewed my fair share of help desk people, some with rumpled clothes or worst, smelly clothes. Keep them clean and not wrinkled and you’ll be fine. Great advice all around in the other comments. And take note of the belt one especially, it has to be clasped above the zipper. You got this!

1·3 years agoC’est sûr. Mon biais négatif me fait juste dire “good! Pas de droit de parole à ce genre de personnage dégoûtant” mais je reconnais que dans la réalité la situation n’est pas SI simple que ça.

I live in Canada. I never cease to be flabbergasted by laws in the US. It’s like living next to a time warp.
