May I take the chance to ask what the stance on the SSNP is here on the 'grad? I admit I lack knowledge about them (all I know is they’re against israel), liberal sources don’t paint them in a good light at all (calling it a fascist, anti-communist party, with photos of nazi salutes for proof and so on) but I can’t really find much else. Could anyone enlighten me? /geniune-question I’ll gladly move this somewhere else if this thread isn’t the right place to ask

I’m not as educated as I could be but from what I do know about them, they aren’t fascists or explicitly anticommunists, at least not the Syrian branch (which I’ve heard is more progressive than the Lebanese branch). They basically call for a united Levant, undoing the division of Al-Shaam (Greater Syria) between Palestine, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

Here’s there website if you wanna read more:

I scoured their website a bit and their principles are somewhat worrying, at a first glance for sure (Will ook into a part they mention “mental superiority over neighbouring nations” especially), but I’ll deepen my research. I admit my knowledge on the history of the Arab states is very very lacking. Thanks again for the source comrade!

They’re definitely not favorite group from the national progressive front in Syria, that would obviously go to the Communists party (Bakdash). Also this might be the Lebanese website, again the two parties though sharing a name are quite a bit different.

Good question, but I’m unfortunately not familiar with them. I was simply inspired by their statement and felt it needed to be shared.

For what it’s worth, wikifedcia calls them an ally of the Lebanese Communist party so I’m not sure if claims of them being anti-communist are accurate. They also call them allies of Hezbollah.

Thanks for the response. It seems they have collaborated with Hezbollah and the Lebanese Communist Party in the past (wikipedia, ashamedly) indeed. What’s wikifedcia? This is my first time hearing about it

Edit: I may have just realised you meant Wikipedia, that is a hilarious name
