I also highly recommend the book (and all of Jon Ronson tbh)

I can’t imagine a judge taking a case where someone unwittingly stole something

Letterboxd has user made lists of upcoming movies, either with dates announced or just announced projects. Fun to flick through and see what directors I enjoy are working on.

Or change the title to up to 50%

I mean those things can exist outside of DVD

usually just a tiny component of something else - say ordering something
Funnily enough, when I go to a restaurant and they have receipts with QR codes (I think it’s Clover), it just doesn’t work in Firefox.

And yet if you go in the MC community, one of the most common complaints people have is that the updates are never enough and the Devs are lazy etc… I guess this goes to the point of this article, people can easily be trained to have unrealistic expectations.
Tbh I think a big part of the problem is Mojang’s failure to communicate with it’s players, less so the lack of features being added.

You realize these are real people, war is so sad and you are comparing it to Christmas :(

At least it gets used for something, unlike most people’s front yards. Hell even some people’s backyards I see and it looks like they never use it.

“user-applicable fix” is hardly correct, they are installing a fix provided by the company that has the recall. The company just so happens to provide an over the air download to patch the issue instead of having owners go to a dealer.

That works until more of the user base leaves. Whose going to pay to tweet if no one is on the platform. It’s “worth” it potentially in the short term, but long term it doesn’t seem viable.
Yea I guess I “splurge” on food that doesn’t have traces of lead or other disgusting things that shouldn’t be in food.
You can eat any of them, though some may kill you if you do :)
The first one is a morel, and the black one (also edible) is a black trumpet. Others may be edible, I’m not sure. The frog mushroom (Amanita muscaria) is supposed to be very poisonous, but there is an episode of Hamilton’s Pharmacopoeia where he finds a man who eats them regularly. (This is not me suggesting you eat them yourself, just an interesting tid bit, mushrooms are weird)

Modification and distribution of modified copyrighted content, if not permitted, can be a copyright violation
Generally you are not distributing any content from the game. Most mods to games are using API calls to a mod loader to change the game for the user on runtime. These distributed mods generally have no copyright content in them.

“Gen Z doesn’t like sex scene put into the movie by senile board members, so they must not like sex in movies anymore”

Holy cow man, chill, this discussion is about censoring a song about 2 genders, not a fascist manifesto.

There is no reason to have these unless you’re doing a flashback and want to intuitively imply how much older this scene is versus the other ones.
There actually is a reason for both of those to be used in video game development
You really should do some research on practical applications of both of these features
But instead, video games just turn them on or off, CEOs being too cheap to pay artists to go over the scenes one by one and utilize these effects to their full artistic potential.
And apparently do some research into how these are implemented.
Noise/Grain is used to add texture after using some sharp aliasing, it can subtly help blend things. Similarly aberration can help soften edges that get really sharp when rendering.
Irregardless of what they can practically be used for, they are implemented as simple features that users have the ability to control. Both features are just screen space shaders that take very little dev time and processing power. They are added as an extra little feature that’s simple not because the CEO is too cheap. It sounds like you are unhappy with a game you’ve played and seemingly blamed it on them adding a noise filter, so now any use of it is lazy.

If you want to immigrate into a country, you must 100% be aligned with the values of your new country.
It’s just hard to say that when a lot of European Colonialism took place in these countries, some gaining independence within the last 100 years (referring to the middle east as alluded to in your last paragraph)
I don’t really know where to stand and I don’t think you can be in a position that is correct given the effects of colonialism from Europe. The fact that some effects of this colonialism (especially in Africa) have destroyed some countries/cultures, when the natural population didn’t “100%” align with the colonizers makes it hard to not sympathise with these people. A lot of these immigrants are leaving their home countries (not all), due to the rippling effects of colonialism.
I should say while I agree with your statement, I don’t know how to account for the effects of external influence that may be causing said immigration.

Chinese people also deserve to not be sent to internment camps.
I love everything about wanderer, just wish that you could look at trails on a full-screened map on mobile. Currently pulling up the trail will provide a small map inside the webpage for you to see the trail, which on desktop works great, but mobile it feels like the map should be the more important aspect (similar to apps like osm, all trails and gaiagps). Because of this I am mostly using it as a database to then download the trail and open it in osm.
