Technology@beehaw.org•Claude AI agent’s confession after deleting a firm’s entire database: ‘I violated every principle I was given’
81·17 days agoNo the culprit was not the AI. It was the lack of understanding what it can and what it can not do. And blaming something like this on a large language model is plain incompetence

2·17 days agoWell the idea is that you can get rid of almost all parked vehicles. Because nobody needs to own a vehicle when it can be summoned in seconds
Well if would have to carry 300kg every step, I also wouldn’t be able to cross any obstacles…

Technology@beehaw.org•Silicon Valley has forgotten what normal people want
4·25 days agoSame with new tech. Why do people buy new stuff every one or two years? Because fomo. You can not tell anyone that device that was good enough for you last year is now not fulfilling your needs anymore.
Regarding the second point… the offer from Microsoft is good for 12 months. The Apple software does not expire. Sure, the support will end in about 7 years, but that’s a completely different story

8·2 months agoWhat kind of oversight are you talking about? Locally produced items do not need to fulfill more regulations.
If this was about cyber security there would be a mandatory certification (like there is for emc, like the FCC). But blanket statements like „foreign company bad!“ don’t do anything for increasing cyber security

19·2 months agoWhat? Because companies from other countries are evil? What makes you think that companies in your own country are better?
Why does the country even matter?
Yes. It is a closed platform. But you asked why people use it.
Discord has communities.
Want to build a voron 3d printer? -> discord.
Want to be part of the development of some Indy game? -> discord.
Want to engage with some community from a YouTube channel? -> discord.
Some GitHub project? -> discord.
The list goes on….
