I do hate that AI has become a catchall for “generative AI.”
“Does this game contain AI?”
Well, I hope so, or it wouldn’t be much of a game.
But “slop generator” wouldn’t be as effective at pumping up that economy-destroying bubble, so the tech bros have financial reasons for not using honest terminology.

That’s by design. The president is a Russian asset doing what he was told and trained to do.

Thank you, I wondered what the catch was.

RbP created a publicly traded company for their hardware, which is almost-wholly-held by Raspberry Pi Foundation, which is a charity.
That sort of thing ought not be allowed, ever. It’s similar to the path Arduino took to get here. There are still other competitors, but for the time being I’m happy enough with RbPi’s dirt-cheap microcontrollers. Their mini-PCs are a different story. We’re already seeing enshittification and price gouging there. It’s just a matter of time.

Arduino has been irrelevant for a while. There are better alternatives for everything they offer. For a start, take a look at Raspberry Pi’s microcontrollers.

Starting December 22, 2025, Fleet will no longer be available for download. We are now building a new product focused on agentic development.
Fuck.

Game awards are ridiculous, but I will never forget Expedition 33. It deserves all the accolades it has earned and achieved.

That one does what it says, says what it does, is short to type, and doesn’t psychologically reinforce any negative stereotypes.

The problem is “black” being used in a negative context while at the same time “white” is being used in a positive context. It reinforces racial stereotypes specifically because that is the language we also use for race. Language and psychology are inseparable.
“Block list” and “allow list” are clearer and less ambiguous anyway, and just make more sense.

My problem is that this is an unsustainable, unmaintainable ideal rather than a plan. It is nothing more than liberalism in infancy. We’re stuck playing Monopoly and this is a desire to start the game over rather changing it fundamentally. The outcome will be the same no matter how many times you start over.

That feeling that you are a liar who is always lying to yourself and you are both untrustworthy for lying to yourself and gullible for believing yourself. And little things like failing to get the ten competing but complementary and codependent thoughts out of your head in a way that others understand further reinforces the feeling that you are being deceptive even though you are trying really hard to be as complete and thorough and accurate as possible.
Stimulants and a reliable support network do help.

This would be an exciting feature. I don’t need games to be these deeply interactive VR experiences. Just having any old game playing on a virtual 3D TV would be wonderful.
That senior engineer dodged a bullet.

You missed one. 😉
Mint doesn’t officially support KDE and there are known issues if you do it yourself. You’d be better off switching distros if you like that desktop. Pure Debian + KDE might be a more comfortable move in that situation.
I will be the black sheep that strongly recommend against Mint. I have had more hardware compatibility problems trying to run Mint than any other distro. This is anecdotal, but consistent enough that I would make bets on it. Secondly, I hate Cinnamon, the default desktop environment. There are better choices.
Instead, I’ll suggest Fedora KDE. It’s rock solid, reliable, and the KDE Plasma desktop is the best currently available whether you leave it stock or customize it.
If you want to try things out, set up a spare thumb drive with Ventoy, which will let you boot to any ISO you copy to it. Most distros have “live” versions that you can boot to from the thumb drive and try out before installing. That said, most linux distros install in 5 minutes, so don’t be afraid to try anything and everything you’re curious about.
Also, avoid Cachy or other Arch based distros for now. They are great, but a far more hands-on. Something for the future, when you are more comfortable with linux in general.

A company abused their clout to steal ownership of an npm package from it’s FOSS developer. Because NPM was complicit in the theft, the maintainer deleted all their packages and abandoned NPM. One of those was left-pad, which was used by tons of other major projects, which could no longer be built. NPM then restored left-pad against it’s owners wishes and handed control to another corporate shill.

That’s my kind. If I am enjoying myself I tune out the world and will forget to eat or sleep. I’ve gone more than 24h without realizing it, though the autism exacerbates it. Many years ago I started setting an egg timer to help “bring me back” but these days I can use phone apps for that. I recommend that for fellow hyperfocus neurospicies.
We get “June Bugs” in California. They look just like this, but are brown and fuzzy and squeak when you pet them.
