Yes and it’s quite amazing. Not really anything like the original other than that it involves the Oregon Trail. I forget where, but there is a video game archive that allows you to play it in browser. Was able to play it for the first time in maybe 20 years and it was a lot of fun!

I always return my cart rain or shine no matter how far away the return is. But there was one time I didn’t when I moved to a new neighborhood and went to the local grocer for the first time. This particular store shared a parking lot with a hardware store. I parked in a spot I thought was on the grocery store side of the lot, but I guess not? I bring my cart out and I’m almost to my car when suddenly the wheels lock up and I can’t move the cart anymore. turns out they have a system in their carts to prevent people from stealing them. But I guess the zone for that is up to interpretation because I really feel like I was parked on the grocery side of the lot even if off to the side a bit. I ended up leaving the cart and just walked my groceries to my car. I blame the store for not properly marking the zone or improperly setting it in the first place. Not much I could do about it otherwise.

That’s why I typically save up for nicer things, or try to go to lots of flea markets and thrift stores. I have lots of unique and super fancy glassware for my bar and a nice collection of cast iron plus many more nice things without breaking the bank.

Um… I don’t think that’s going to work out very well for you. But hey, everyone makes coffee different.

I was in a similar situation at my first job, except my boss didn’t have a wife and instead lived right across the street from the office. He would say things like “We don’t have a clock-in and clock-out attitude here”. Or one time he kicked off a project where he divided up groups of people and wanted them to start brainstorming ideas for an app we could implement with our product. Except he specifically said we couldn’t work on it during work hours. So guess what, nobody worked on it and Mr boss man was very disappointed in all of us. I’m so glad I don’t work there anymore.

Maybe it depends on the students, but based on the ones I’ve met, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. My family took a trip rafting in the Grand Canyon for 6 days in 130 degree heat. It was highly taxing on the body and you needed to be very in tune with your body during the trip to assure you didn’t get heat sickness. There were 2 people on the raft with my family serving as tour guides and experts. One was an older and very seasoned expert who knew the canyon and its history like it was their very soul. The other was a young geology student who was training to do the same. During this trip, all of us experienced the same physical challenges, but our guides were also tasked with keeping us safe and informed, setting up camp, and navigating any additional challenges that the rest of us wouldn’t be knowledgeable in. Oh and steering the fucking raft through some extremely dangerous areas that even seasoned rafters fuck up sometimes. It was a wild trip, but I’ve got a lot of props for the geologist and student that served as our guides.

I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but the real trick to managing pests in your home, is to allow the right predator pests to exist. The best ones are spiders and centipedes. Centipedes are especially the best because they won’t ever hurt you, they mostly stay out of sight, and they don’t leave webs hanging around. But when you do see one you will probably freak the fuck out. You just have to remember that they eat earwigs and mites and such and try not to kill them. Spiders are also great to keep around, but there should be a big asterisk about how I live in Illinois and most spiders are harmless here.

It’s hard to tell from this photo but to me it just looks like your basil is flowering and a bunch of flower bits made a mess on the leaves. I usually try to pinch off the flowers as soon as I see them to keep the basil leaves going. I don’t see any holes in the leaves or yellow/brown spots so I don’t think it’s a pest. But again it’s hard to tell from this photo.

Edit: Just saw the tumbler photos and the first one makes it look more like a pest is present. But again, I don’t see any indication that they’re eating the leaves. Doesn’t hurt to try the dish soap spray in case it’s aphids.

The feeling is even better when they let you go because you no longer have a moral obligation to transition anything over to your coworkers. You can just fuck off and not feel bad. This typically highlights all the holes in management when they are ineffective at delegating your tasks and things get dropped. My husband witnessed this happen recently. They let an employee go nearly a year ago, then a client started sending emails wondering what was happening to their project and why there hadn’t been communication.

They are also more nutritious in the off-season because they have to wait for the fruit/vegetables to ripen before freezing as opposed to picking unripe and using treatments to ripen in storage. Though I prefer to get stuff from my own garden and process enough to have during the winter so I know I’m always eating nutritious food from my garden year-round. Understandably unattainable for some however.

I really enjoyed this video, but one thing bugs me a bit. Why does he specifically call attention to Tesla as a brand and not Luminar? If he’s trying to be scientific about the technology, it should be “lidar vs imaging”. Or if he does want to call out brands, “Luminar vs Tesla”. Not that I’m defending Tesla, but this just seems weird to me when his videos are typically more educational.

Guy doesn’t seem to understand what a “work persona” is. I wouldn’t want to date my own work persona let alone anyone else’s.

At my school, they showed a video about all the different parts of the cell where each part was a character with a different “job” and looking back it was pretty racist. I specifically remember that the Lysosome was a garbage man with a Mexican accent. Very cool science video for children… very cool 🫤
