It was shut down for around a week to a week and a half, and now it’s back. That’s what I meant.

The point was: now that it’s been shown that the mod is willing to take the sub offline in protest of various stuff, maybe it would be good to support an alternative as well so eggs can be in several baskets instead of just one.

It is a lot easier to meet people in a big city. I live in New York City and am a member of a variety of groups where I could go out and hang with random people every night (and play trivia, board games, go drinking etc). Whether you’ll actually like them and they’ll turn into real friends is a separate issue.

Being able to walk everywhere, or most places, is a huge plus.

Not having as much of my own space (small apartment, no yard) is a downside for sure. The park is just not the same.

In the end, socialization requires effort and commitment either way.

Good, was sick last week and now feeling a lot better so it’s like the world is open with possibilities again.

Regarding the sickness, I was at like 70% for a full week. Not enough to actually lay around and be lazy all day but sick enough that I couldn’t really stomach doing anything of importance.

It also funnels down to freedom from bureaucracy too. Look at how hard it is in many places to legally build a non-fancy home on your own property. Endless restrictions, regulations, permits and inspections. Nobody is trying to free us from this.

If these movies did not make money, they would not get made. Maybe other types of movies would get made, and maybe they’d be better, but the big budget movies that do get made are to make money.
