Oh, they are also ditching CarPlay and Android Auto for their own data harvesting software? Coded by AI “specialists?”
Not sure what to say to that.

This is a really good point! It used to be “a computer is only as smart as its user.” The same can be said of AI: the model’s results are kind of dictated by the prompt. while anyone can prompt an AI with whatever they want, it takes experience to use an AI to develop a project from idea to v1. At the e d of the day, the AI can search the web better than me, and type faster than I can - but I know what I want my code to do, and I know how I want it done. Those two things don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Honestly, 7 on IMDB is about my cutoff for “probably decent” if I’m going in cold on a show.

I don’t even use arch (btw), but damn its wiki is so well done!
I love that crunchy feeling! You just don’t get that with new keyboards!
Especially anywhere near a beach! Aside from the sunlight, all the sand in the air getting everywhere. ¡No bueno!

I can’t speak for Macs that far back, but PC laptop trackpads in the late 90s and early 2000s did suck pretty hard. Many of the gestures people are used to on trackpads today originated with Macs, IIRC. I remember PCs having the capability to scroll by using the edge of the trackpad. That’s when I remember trackpads actually starting the get OK.

Meanwhile, the simplest switch is ignored: when you turn on your windshield wipers while not in Park or your emergency brake is not engaged, your headlights should come on as well. Such an easy piece of legislation, and nowhere near as expensive for consumers as this BS will be.

Google being Google.

What was amusing in Star Trek was when Spock pinched that dickhead’s lights out.

As soon as The Idiot was reelected, criminal prosecutions were off the table. Not that there was a better chance under Biden, or would’ve been under Harris. Way too much money and power in those files!

Exactly. While it was the claimed reason for the laws, everyone with a semi-working brain knew it was for mass surveillance. This isn’t a bug, or even a feature. It’s the intent.

$1 is way too much for “Contract With America”

It’s either money or incompetence. I guess it could be the not at all rare occurrence of both.

Boy, didn’t see that coming.

Seems to me that whichever AI company who gets the contract after Anthropic should be boycotted. I mean, boycotted more than normal
Side note: anyone giving odds of Grok or xAI “winning” the contract? Kind of feels right.

This was inevitable.

Feels like they’re not exactly trying to attract talent at all.

Mine is basically my office. I think the heaviest I’ve had it was close to 40 lbs! It’s usually around 30 lbs when I’m traveling for work.
Good start, but uh… Clarence Thomas?
