  • For real. Like, if you have two brain cells to rub together, you observe body language and mix checking in on your partner with dirty talk. It’s not like “are you still consenting?! Do you still like me?!” Literally there’s porn lines you can copy like “yeah, you like that?” or “I want you to beg for it” or “tell/show me what you like” or whatever is up your alley. Deliver it with a modicum of confidence and its not weird.

  • Western Europe doesn’t really have an issue with overpopulation and resulting kill shelters for cats and dogs. In fact, all of my friends with dogs have to import them from Eastern Europe. So, I really hope they’re not getting cats and dogs donated to them…

But, they also explicitly say “chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs.” Not sure how many these unwanted pets there are that it will feed their animals much…

But it also seems like this article suggests this zoo has a history of unnecessary euthanization of zoo animals and feeding to other animals…

  • Pretty much this. Met him once. He’s has no scandals, he’s just kind of a rude guy.

I had a friend tell a story once about how he was on a field trip and the class found out Bill Nye was in the building. But once Bill found out kids were on the way he escaped out a window to avoid them. I’m not sure how true that is, but its kinda funny.

Democrats are pragmatically there for the money. They aren’t comically evil, but they are corrupt. They will throw an election before they ever give up AIPAC money and count on the next election swinging back to them. They get to sit back and watch the republicans be the bad guys and stir shit up for a few years. Then, when they get back in power, they fix the things that’s don’t make them money and look like he good guys but conveniently leave the unpopular policy the republicans enacted that makes them money and they don’t have to look like the bad guys. They just look incompetent. But they aren’t. This is all very purposeful. They love this dynamic. They benifit from it.

The democrats as they are for sure need to go. But we need to be more pragmatic ourselves about removing them instead of throwing elections to the republicans hoping it will teach the Democrats a lesson. Because it won’t. We need to focus on getting a foothold and changing the party. And that means turning out to vote in every election no matter what. Vote third party. Vote write in. Vote whatever. But sitting out of elections to teach democrats a lesson just isn’t going to do anything. It’s just throwing away the small amount of political capital most people have. If we don’t vote now its either corporate feudalism or civil war in the future.

While you do recognize Orban, the afd, and Lukashenko, you bring them up as a way to suggest that that Americans should not ask for sympathy on Trump because they have done nothing to prevent these a other authoritarian governments from forming. Nobody is asking you or your country to step in and save America from Trump. We all know America did that to its self and has to live with it now.

But we are all living under systems in which the fascists are dominating the propaganda machine in “the west.” It is not something happening in isolated pocks in the few scenarios you list. You give whiplash by indicating both the the individual has not done anything/enough to prevent genocide and Trump and that it is also not their personal fault. But then you still say that you will support this person once they (or Americans generally) fix the threat to you. But the call is coming from within the house. They can not entirely fix the threat to you even if they managed to fix the entire us political system. It is not just their Democratic system resulting in this.

They deserve sympathy as we all do or likely will. May we all be saved from the poor decisions of our nationalal peers.

  • There are non capitalistic economic systems that are also don’t require state ownership and are non authoritarian. Literally just incentivizing worker owned coops is an example of how you can drastically shift the economic system without changing the political system. Markets =/= capitalism. The ability to hoard capital and thus power through private ownership is capitalism. I’m not saying that what i described is the perfect system, it’s just an example of something possible outside of your argument.

  • People are uninformed. The reality is that they vote incumbents when they feel good and for change when they feel bad. And, in the end, winning the voter base means being the best at propaganda and swaying how people are feeling. Unfortunately, even if you want to do the right thing, you still have to win people over with propaganda. Pushing for good policy that’s too complicated for the average person with the attention span of a small rodent to follow doesn’t work. Its why Trump always gets crushed in the debates and still wins elections. People literally think they’re voting for the economy which is a net positive for everyone and that Trump doesn’t mean the hateful stuff he says. That’s how good their propaganda game is.
