14·3 年前Agha Khan Development Network
The Aga Khan operates a large horse racing and breeding operation at his estate Aiglemont, in the town of Gouvieux in the Picardy region of France – about 4 kilometres (2+1⁄2 miles) west of the Chantilly Racecourse. In 1977, he paid £1.3 million for the bloodstock owned by Anna Dupré and in 1978, £4.7 million for the bloodstock of Marcel Boussac.[82]
The Aga Khan is an ardent yachtsman. He co-founded the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo, Sardinia in 1967. He also commissioned a 164-foot yacht, Alamshar, named after a prized racehorse of his, with a price tag of £200 million. The cost and maintenance are partly covered by chartering. The yacht was advertised as having a top speed of 60 knots, capable of setting a new transatlantic speed record.[citation needed] It reached a speed in excess of 55 knots in its initial trials but despite the claims, it was never intended for transatlantic speed records as it does not have the range.
Forbes describes the Aga Khan as one of the world’s fifteen richest royals, and the most recent estimate of his net worth is $13.3 billion.[13] He is unique among the richest royals in that he does not preside over a geographic territory.[14] He owns hundreds of racehorses, valuable stud farms, an exclusive yacht club on Sardinia,[60] Bell Island in the Bahamas,[61] two Bombardier jets, a £100 million high speed yacht Alamshar, and several estates around the world
In the 1990s, the Aga Khan had a group of US$400 a night Italian luxury hotels, called Ciga. Currently the Aga Khan, through his for-profit AKFED, is the largest shareholder in the Serena Hotels chain.[64] The Aga Khan’s racing horse businesses bring in considerable income.[65] He owns and operates the largest horse racing and breeding operation in France, the French horse auction house, Arqana, Gilltown Stud near Kilcullen in Ireland, and other breeding/stud farms in Europe
He married a Thyssen, yes as in Thyssen Krupp a Nazi collaborating company focused on the war goals and used plenty of forced labour. Honestly I doubt that even what is financed via 10% of much poorer people’s income than his that is done via the AKDN means he is a good guy.
AKFED is part of AKDN. He literally uses poor peoples money to build hotel chains for the rich and ultra rich and also is more interested in his own vanity and consumption than the people.

6·3 年前I went into the thread. You defended Nazis and argued that it makes sense that the FRG (west Germany) had so many Nazis in control of the government, police, judicative, and companies. While there were alternatives (believe me as someone living in Germany and having informed myself about that I know it). You also moved your goal posts and tried to diminish influences of other states i.e. the US (which you nationalist rise above others). All in all you would be okay in the instance, but get back lash when you kept up the way to jump from one to the other.
That you try to ignore those actions and the responses to your comments fits that lemmy users arguing against hexbear are deflecting heavily from their own responsibility and their own actions.
Your points in regards to both Russia&Ukraine are also not true (else you would directly link to it, and then there is no consensus in the hexbear userbase neither) and liking the CFR article is also not showing anything about hexbear (who - if you do search for it - are actually linking the UN report as well as the Chinese answer in regards to the Uigurs in their threads and comments about it).

Edit You also are quite a new user to the lemmy-verse from this month (compared to multiple year old users posting to you), which mostly is reducing the quality on communities on one hand and also got quite a few comments deleted. I urge you to read up on nettiquette and change your attitude if you want to be a positive contributing influence to this community.

6·3 年前Story time! CW right extremist violence
Libs don't know that punching Nazis works
Back after the
reunification the former
states had a trouble with Nazis, I ignore those within the police force but focus on unorganized ones. The organized right did quickly try to leverage their position and targeted young people especially i.e. by financing summer holidays, “national” (read right extremist) youth centers and alike. Some
’s that did social work at that time were proponents of “accepting youth work” which means to say “It is fine that you are a Nazi who expresses wishes to kill people, I hear you, I am here for you” (which didn’t work out well). In any case for various reasons the Nazis did use plenty violence and kill / torture people, if you were marginalized you were a higher likelyhood target. The police didn’t do a lot, the years are called “Baseballschläger Jahre” literally baseball bat years, cause that was among the most prominent weapons of them.1990 till … somewhat in the early 2000s https://nitter.net/search?q=%23Baseballschlägerjahre
Now what did slowly but surely create security for the
, for
,
, :bipoc:,
comrades and friends?Antifascist self defense. This is what worked and secured physical safety and in parts still does. The actual story is this:
Local Nazis punched punks and leftists kids for years, antifa self defense is organized, a Nazi aggressor is beaten down, the libs decry the violence and yet after that attack in that small city the Nazi attacks mostly stopped. The violence of the years before was not enough for the libs to really care, the police didn’t care and more likely targeted you, but the self defense was suddenly wrong. Those things happened around that time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rostock-Lichtenhagen_riots
The
did as result of those racist pogroms decide to remove Asylum as fundamental individual right from its basic law (labeled “compromise”, a compromise with racists is pretty much always a compromise against the oppressed), which was written in there due to the experiences of Nazi Germany that marginalized always need places to escape to. However after the reunification and the fall of the Soviet Union Germany’s parties (CDU+FDP+Social Democrats of New Labour type) quickly decided that this was no longer true. Mostly to gather racist votes and for nationalist reasons.
