  • That would suggest almost all people are superficial, which doesn’t track. Contributing factors to couples having more money (opportunities etc) are things like, one person can work longer hours, while supporting the other to upskill, therefore eventually bringing in a higher income. One person can do school drop offs, the other pick ups, therefore offering less impact on one individual job spoiler, jobs are not child friendly, so needing to leave too often for a sick kid, can and does lose you a job. learning facilities, arr similarly not child friendly, your access is hugely lowered, to which, if any, courses you can study, without significant informal (free support) child care. Actual child care centres are unbelievably expensive, to the exclusion of most single parents. And that’s not even counting sharing the other typical living costs. Being single has become a huge barrier to climbing the ladder.

  • They were all great quality, although I made them. There used to be a trend where you could buy pirated copies of movies, and they’d have a cheap paper sticker on the disc, they’d be at local markets and stalls on the weekends. They were absolutely abysmal quality. Grainy, colours all oversaturated, lines all through them, super quiet sound. You couldn’t watch them. People would buy them and give them to me. But they were just trash.

When I was a kid I had a copy box that took off the copywrite protection, on vhs, and I used to tweak the vcr to pile multiple movies on one vhs. It had this system of super fast, skip fast forwarding, where you selected the number of the movie and it zapped to it. I was so young, I cannot remember how it worked. Then I got a computer and downloaded DVD shrink and DVD decryptor. You couldn’t tell the copy from the original.

  • I understand your worries. The wars are going to effect lots of things, supply chains etc. I’m not sure how oil will effect housing here, I’m curious how you see that effecting housing specifically? For real, Genuine question. (I’m not being snide.) The government should absolutely do all of those things, and they easily could. We do already have enough homes, it’s not as much of a shortage, more a problem that investors have hoarded up all the stock. They keep homes vacant, for prolonged periods of time to force the price of rents etc up. The government could easily tax investment properties, to tip the scale back in favour of it being a home first, and an investment second. We have enough homes, currently, and we are building enough homes to technically keep up with demand. It’s being manipulated to overinflate prices, currently, though. On census night in 2021, for example, more than a million homes were recorded as unoccupied. We could easily use homes that are vacant, or old military or mining bases. Theres options for both homeless and refugees. Theres so many options to fix the current, artificially created crisis.

  • Likely just double sided tape. That would gather dust where exposed, (not stuck to wires, bit) though. As I found out from doing the same thing with a super long lamp cable, in my bathroom, where we only had a heatlamp, and that sucked in summer. But also the power point was in an awkward place, so I dangled a lamp from the ceiling, but after taking it down, and being too lazy to remove the tape, now it’s fly catching tape.

  • There’s a monthly discount? I’m in an area where there’s no alternatives to the duopoly of evil, and I have kids with disabilities so I literally can’t get in store to shop. I’m not going to be able to avoid this. I’m annoyed.

All I do is make a list of my chosen products, in the apps, and shop the ones that are on special, only, and buy multiples to last while those products aren’t on special, I make a list, because then I just skip past everything, go straight to a simple list of everything I need. Having the list eliminates impulse buying, and has halved my grocery bill. I’m too susceptible to the mind tricks they employ to sell more to you than you need, if i go in, I’ll spend $100, every time.

  • I feel like that’s one of those things that, even if you could do it, you shouldn’t. I wasn’t really being serious, so much.

If you’re sure you want me to attempt to play mind reader, just for funsies, I suppose I could. My trauma is I had to grow up guessing what everyone was gunna do, because none of the adults were even a tiny bit safe, so I got sort of a little bit good at the guessing game, sort of. I’ve never tested it on internet strangers though.

That said, my dating history would completely oppose previous statements… So maybe I just think I’m a little bit good at something, but really I suck.
