I am not sure i understand. Is it something to do with redshift?

But in the vastness of space, it was practically guaranteed to happen somewhere. There are a set of criteria that allow for the evolution of life (as we know it) and it was going to happen somewhere, the fact that it happened here is no more awesome than it happening 3 galaxies over.
I know the feeling you are describing and the words to describe what i am trying to say are hard for me to grasp.
Its like in a film where the hero survives seemingly impossible odds and people watching say “no way, thats impossible” and can’t enjoy the film because its too unbelievable. I say no! This is a story about the one almost impossible time all these things happened. Thats the point. Yes its hard to believe, but thats what makes it awesome.
So the earth being here and humanity and all other animals evolving here is just the time in the impossibly vast universe that the “stars aligned” and the fact that we are experiencing it is just expected.
Yes, but neither is what you are answering. Or i just don’t get how that answers it.
You are telling me this answers the question “does the universe exist” but i am asking why there is anything there in the first place so that the universe can exist. Why is there a medium for the fabric of space and time to exist within. There could have just been nothing.
I understand that there is. And we are here. But thats not my question and i don’t think your answering that question.
Maybe I’m just not smart enough to understand.
What you are saying certainly answers that the universe does exist (or at least we perceive it to) but how does that answer the why? If i can ask the question then the universe does exist. Great. But why?
That was a great read and an interesting take. (You should write, if you don’t already, it was very engaging)
To be fair i guess i don’t take life too seriously because i know that ultimately none of it matters, but equally this short time i get to spend here is my opportunity to experience as much as possible and i don’t want to miss any of it so i have to take my life seriously and the lives of those my actions impact. Feeling anger and happiness, fear and love, pain and pleasure are all things to be taken seriously because they are all part of the ride.
If i relax too much i will miss out. It may not matter ultimately but right now in this moment it does. So i should make the most of it. But remember to be able to let go of my grudges, and enjoy the ride. And try to pass that on to others. Remind those that are so wound and tangled up that they can just let go and things will get better.
For me the meaning of life is just to live it and feel as much as possible.
Im not sure i follow. Or at least im not sure how me being able to ask why is answered by me being able to ask that.
I see that i can ask it because the universe exists but i dont think that covers why.
Its the whole “why is there anything at all” thing for me. Like why is there any energy to have made all of this. Couldn’t there just have never been anything at all? Nothing for anyone to experience. Its so hard to perceive and think about but its absolutely fascinating.
This always blows my mind to think that we are here and we are experiencing this life and in the grand scheme of things its so fleeting, but that it all came from somewhere and its all going to die eventually. Could it really be true that there will just be nothing for eternity after this? Or are we not just a random chance in a previous eternity. Can we ever really know or is it all just our best guess?
Its humbling but also makes me feel even more like life is important and should be taken seriously.
I always thought of anyone that works on a game as a game developer. I dont thing that title isnintrinsicly linked to coders. Coders dont decide the genre or the story, or the direction or gameplay styles etc. They only write the code that makes it all work.
I guess apply the logic somewhere else. If i say i design shoes, but all i do is pick the fabric to be used on shoes, someone else designs the shape, another person works on the comfort and another does drawings and sketches etc. Am i not a shoe designer?
I think when a term becomes an industry like game development or footwear design or film maker or anything, it is fair to say you are that thing despite being a single cog in the machine.
What gives the artist less value than the coder? I cant play the code. Need a character on screen and a world for them to move around in. I need story, i need objectives, i need dialogue and music and sfx etc.
Yeah, its more teethy-weethy

Ive been saying it from the date of the switch 2 reveal. Games have cost 80 dollars or more for a very long time.

2·8 months agoOh! I quite like that change. I guess it’s similar to apple in that it’s separatated notofocations from quick settings, but doesn’t apple have a swipe up and swipe down? Or is it double pressing the home button? I haven’t held an iPhone in many years now, so i can’t remember. But how you access the two menus is different. I dont think an apple user who tried android for the first time would intuitively know how to access the two menus. So i wouldn’t say samsung had copied apple. Rather, they have been influenced by the idea. Plus, i believe stock android has this as an option in versions 15 and 16
That aside. You can go into your settings and swap back to the old notification shade.

Right, thanks for the explaination…
Incidentally, my limited understanding and 5 seconds of research tells me the blueshift and redshift are directly related. One is linked to lower speeds and one to higher speeds. The sticker itself is red, so the joke is saying you must be travelling at some fraction of the speed of light to see the sticker as red and if you were going slower it would appear blue.
So it would seem to me in my very limited understanding that this is in fact, to do with redshift…
