Agreed, the font is awful. But definitely don’t judge a book by its cover on this one.

Found these wasabi flavoured bad boys in Costco once upon a time, they were insanely good. The perfect crunch and flavour. Sadly I’ve never been able to find them again.

I recall someone at some point calling it cuckoding, that gave me a chuckle.

I think it does work the other way too (not defending bad employers) where some teenagers would very much have a mentality of calling in sick regularly and it just so happens to be nice weather that day. But yeah you do see some people who are unwell working retail because they can’t afford to not work, especially single parents.

When it comes to full-time salaried jobs, I think the terms are better? I’m not sure though. Every job I’ve had except when I worked retail as a teenager would pay me for my sick days from day 1.
Windows can add some complications as a dev, especially in the corporate environment when really strict group policies are implemented that stop Devs from installing or configuring systems as they need.
One company I worked at remained on Windows LTSC for security reasons, and a lot of Devs that were working with Java hit a snag if for whatever reason an IDE they were using really wanted a system environment variable configured a certain way and it would straight up ignore user environment variables. They would be restricted from basically being able to configure anything without getting IT to remote on and make the changes for them.
I was forced to use a Mac for the first time years ago for work, I still hate working on a Mac but I can’t deny how much more flexible it can be compared to working in a Windows environment that is locked down.

Cool, thanks for the info!

For the first poster, why is nurse Chapel on it?

Growing up I really wasn’t a fan of sitting and reading a book. To me it would just be words on a page, and often I would have to reread the same sentence multiple times and eventually feel drowsy. I recall being sat in the school library during some mandated reading time, and borderline falling asleep.
It wasn’t until I was much older that I decided to give books another go. They are no longer words on a page to me, I now picture scenes with the characters. I don’t know what changed it but I enjoy reading now, when I get the time. Maybe it was a change from it being almost a mandatory thing, to instead being my choice?

I don’t know if it’s still good, but when I had my headset I loved Synth Riders. At times I felt like I was really dancing. Some of the “experiences” were great too, there was a Muse one that was really well done!

Also been playing Expedition 33 and picked up Shredders yesterday, but have been streaming them from my PC as they look awful when trying to play natively.
New patch and DLC for Monster Train tomorrow that I’m excited for. Slay the Spire 2 will have some solid competition for my time when it releases!

This is great news!
I do feel like for some of these games being labeled as playable, by a lot of people’s standards I don’t think they would say they’re enjoyable to play in the state they are presented.
For example Expedition 33 is labeled as Steam Deck verified, but the quality is very poor, that I’m not sure I would be able to stand playing for long. Instead I’ve had to set up to stream from my PC.
Still great news though, and I hope the steam deck is considered more in the future when games are being made.

I thought the overall story has an interesting concept, with some cheesy writing in some bits, and some comedy littered in so they aren’t taking themselves too seriously. Something that bothered me was the use of a current day wheelchair…

This is set 1000+ years in the future where they can solve people being blind but you’re telling me they can’t even have an professor-X style floating chair at a minimum?!
I read on the BBC News site that it will be at the yearly MOT they will gauge how many miles have been done for the year and it will then be charged via the DVLA. They know that people will tamper with the odometers and haven’t yet figured out how to handle that situation.
How about “Prick”
Be me at party having a great time
See fat sweaty guy creeping on a girl and making her uncomfortable
Approach and tell him he’s creeping her out
Reach out to pull him away from her
He kicks me in the balls
He says I tried to sucker punch him
He’s kicked out of the party
Recover and enjoy the rest of the party

It’s immoral to allow someone who could be suffering excruciating pain every day, and with no means to resolve it to choose how to end their life with some level of dignity and by their own free will?

Good question!
“Programming and coding are closely related but not the same. Programming is the process that covers problem-solving, designing, building, and maintaining software, while coding is the step of writing the actual instructions in a programming language. Both are important and work together to create complete software solutions.” - Geeksforgeeks

I’ve never used it, but people I work with teach Scratch to in their spare time. I quick search suggests it is years 8+. I guess it’s more programming than coding, but could be a starting point and lead into coding under 10?
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to have a look around to see if I can get them.
My partner recently bought some Tesco Finest beef and horseradish crisps, they are good but don’t quite hit the same spot.
