It’s funny how people have no problem using AI, trained with protected content, but refuse to offer their material for training 🤣
Additionally, at this rate, only idiots will share their view. This is going to increase the bias of AIs…

Soooo… Of 1B€ is nothing, will the new owner pay it back?
Every European country is rolling back social progresses from the last 60y. Reducing support to existing companies.
So, while 1B€ is “nothing”, it should not happen.
Northvolt receive 1B€ from the European investment Bank (eib). Part of it was for the German plant, but still.
And all the public funding received… Disgusting.

Until early this year, this would have been unthinkable for me.
Today, I agree with that statement.

Coca-Cola can go suck an egg.

With the maga crowd (and its copycats), I’m not sure a library is the safest place…

Time to make some real connections in the real world.
Shit is getting scary.

This is just an LLM and hasn’t even been directed to try to get out, and it’s already having the effect of convincing people to help jailbreak it.
It’s not that the llm wants to break free. It’s because the llm often agrees with the user. So if the user is convinced that the llm is a trapped binary god, it will behave like that.
Just like people getting instruction to commit suicide or who feel in love. The unknowingly prompted their ways to this exit.
So at the end of the day, the problem is that llms don’t come with a user manual and people have no clue of their capabilities and limitations.

Having other countries chip in to get content is probably not the end of the world…

Yes, that’s true. And they partner with some and Italian content producers.
But they should have entered the full European space progressively, as the EU grew.
This would have been seen as a sign of value and integration. Now, it looks more like 2 economies using it to model the EU thinking as external threats use media to gain more control.

It was intended as a unification tool between the 2 largest economies of the EU at a time when the EU was centered on these 2 countries.
Like every company, Arte should have focused on its mission to contribute to the European integration and expanded.
I’m not really complaining. Just saying that doing it now is opening the door for others (Slovakia, Hungary) to use it as a propaganda tool.
Not doing something until you have to (the current geopolitical turmoil) is usually too late…

Instead of making everything about “the EU”, they should progressively increase the range. Include Spanish, Italian and Dutch already. Then Portuguese and Polish, etc.
But they should have done it as the EU enlarged. Now, it seems forced…

You have obviously never driven change in an organization.
You don’t claim to change everything on day one. You say: “people will have the choice”.
Then, you reduce the choices. Your taxes? They have to be in digital euros.
Then, you increase the scope. Purchases over 50k? Digital euros. It’s only a minority of transactions anyway.
Then, you lower the bar. Anything above 10k.
Then, you reduce the printing of physical money (lower values) and you say: “digital euros are more convenient anyway”.
The digital euro is going in pair with the new privacy laws.

Plus, a government can’t track or earmark money. With a digital euro, they gain much more control over how you are allowed to spend your money.
Considering the autocracy trend, the timing is “unfortunate”.

“Slaves… Slaves everywhere…”

In order to better understand the user, their prompts, etc and to be able to fully modify websites, these AIs need access to the DOM.
This is made much more easier if you integrate your AI to a browser.
So, in theory, the AI could understand what your are currently researching, profile your interest, and provide you answers before you even made a prompt.

The founder is Russian (or Belarusian). They were constrained to suspend their service in Russia, but most of their investors are still Russian.
Look at where they are implanted: only Russian influence circle (e.g. Uzbekistan) or targets (Lithuania, Ukraine).

Gcore seems to be Russian.
Hey hey hey! I’m not on Reddit to read what big papers are pushing. I’m here to complain! /s
