But they might be able to make a similarly powered device with older style ram, it would take a significant re-work though, one that would delay release.
So this basically confirms they didn’t go that route.

In those figures, do they count standalone VR headsets as consoles? Cuz they basically are. May not be the same shape, but they do the same thing. And would fill the same role in christmas shopping regards. With the Quest 3s going down to 200 USD for black friday, I have to imagine there were some units sold there.

Man, and they talk about how we are simultaneously all-powerful and blundering fools… always the hypocrits.

Steam Frame is optionally just a Steam Deck with ‘up to’ a 4k screen that you don’t have to look down at or hold up to your face. It can also be used for VR stuff, but otherwise it’s just a better Steam Deck.
It’s how I use my Quest 3 already 75% of the time, so it’ll be nice to have a headset that had that use case in mind during It’s design. And also one where I don’t have to give meta money anymore.

One thing that’s fun about them is since they are artificially limited to run a little conservatively for heat generation, there is a bit of thermal headroom available. The league decided to make use of that by assigning various videogame style “boost” mechanics. The flavour of which are still constantly being iterated on. At one point it was earned by taking an alternate “long cut” for a part of the track, and then they could choose when they used the power boost after that point. Currently they are doing it by choosing to do a sort of pit rapid charge thing, every driver has to do it once per race, they choose when, and once they have taken that pit stop, they can then activate the boost any time afterwards.
There was also a controversial version that probably never should have made it past discussions. They had the audience vote on favourite dirvers, and doled out the boosts to the winners of the popularity contest… I don’t know, maybe they wanted to encourage a positive attitude on and off the track or something.
Hehe, that doorknob. I can see why it has to be closer to her hands when the door is open, but it makes you wonder at the mechanics of it. How much did she have to pay someone to rig it up that way, or did she work it out herself?

I just mean listing the source as “the CDC” currently isn’t disproving that it’s made up anymore.
It may be accurate, but not because it is from the CDC anymore.

Yeah, after deleting any data the CDC used to have that they didn’t agree with. And making up any new data they need to make their preconceived notion as perceivably supported as possible.

Gonna guess, basically the same thing. Easy answers to hard questions instead of you having to think about them.
So, as far as they would be concerned, the only reason more people haven’t chosen that path must be because they don’t know how much easier it is, and how much less they have to think about stuff.
They can’t see that building skill and knowledge has value beyond the extra effort.

It’s a pretty good game. I didn’t particularly like the RTS parts, but even with not liking them, the game was good. I recommend it. The RTS in the storyline is easy enough to get through without skill or practice. And of course its a nice way to commemorate Ozzy’s performance.

That’s more late 90’s sports car. But it is at least closer, hehe.

Yeah, what I really want is a little electric late 80’s/early 90’s sports car. With modern safety features. I don’t care if it doesn’t have insane range, I drive less than 5000 km a year. I miss the look of that era of sports cars. It doesn’t -need- to have pop-up headlights, but think of how much more responsive and useful they could be now.
My current car is a mark 3 supra, even if I could convert it to electric, the safety features are also pretty outdated.

I just grab an app that lets it increment by amounts other than 10%. Not as good, but doesn’t need root. If I gotta change the volume by alot, I drag the bar. Otherwise I just leave the button at 1% increments. Cuz yeah, my volume is like 1% to 5% most of the time, until I need to watch a youtube video, then it’s like 70%… then the next thing I do on my phone after the youtube video renders me temporarily deaf and everyone within a mile glares at me… and I turn my volume back down to 5% or less again.
Not sure why every single other thing on the phone uses a different standard for volume than video does… just a new loudness war I guess.
Uhh, that kind of just sounds like a convoluted excuse to look at pictures of OP and play it off like there is some valid reason why the rest makes any sense…
*“Optional” glasses are a hotness super power.
Real glasses are more about how you see than how you look.
The most important thing to remember, is they also put you on a medically supervised dose of what is essentially an anti-anxiety medication. So you actually like don’t care at all during the procedure. Like you are fully aware and fully alert, but you are super cool with what is going on. It’s all chill, a totally normal thing, could do it every day if need be.

Yeah, this line of posts I would consider completely separate from the other one. Though not completely in a vacuum.

Oh, I wasn’t like being mad or anything. I was just trying to explain what was happening. I’m autistic, so not only have I already learned all these lessons the hard way, but I’m very familiar with being misunderstood and having to make extra effort to explain my jokes.
Edit: And with the most common way of browsing lemmy, especially as a new user, being to have it set to /all, there are actually alot of instances of a random person showing up with a super unpopular hot take on something they don’t know about.

If you want to play a person that would get downvoted, without indicating that you are doing so, you are then not in a position to be upset that you got downvoted. Acting irrational and defending the indefensible is a normal thing to encounter on the internet, unironically.
Make sure you aren’t set to only see recent posts, there are no posts in the last 6 hours for example, but all the historic posts are still there if you change to a different feed type.
