I think I was in a college lecture when we were told that we were going to be remote for the last few weeks of our course.
I remember hearing about COVID for the first time a lot more clearly though, I was volunteering in a charity shop and the two managers were chatting about how the couple who ran the flower shop down the road just brought it back with them from their trip to china. I told my mum that it might be worth buying some hand sanitiser and she said “I’ll worry about it when it gets to the village” safe to say it got to the village pretty soon after that.

the shop I work in lets staff take written off stuff just so it isn’t going to waste so I regularly eat food that’s past the expiry date, I think the oldest thing was a bottle of pepsi max lime that was a bit over a year out. It was still fizzy but idk if it tasted off or if I just didn’t like the flavour.

Mood, on and off fever for 2 days too then right as I thought I was healing my stomach started doing loops

I had a university lecturer who claimed that climate change was racist “because Bangladeshi women can’t swim”
Idk how some people end up being able to teach sometimes

Did someone email us about a fire?

idk if it’s the same thing but in the UK we had a limited run of “electric” pepsi a few months ago that was dyed blue, everyone I know assumed they were just trying to shift a bad batch as a limited edition drink.

You’d be surprised, some people born in the 2000s want them for the retro factor now

just hold onto a book for 5 decades to avoid late fees, got it
Where can I get this security camera?

I thought they’d already banned the military from using this, you’d think secret service would be included in that ban too

Ever since the edgerunners anime I’ve kinda wanted choom and gonk to turn into real slang

I tried looking for something like this in the UK and it turns out the nearest one for me got shut down during COVID, the rest are all an hour or two away at least. It’s a great idea but I guess it’s unsustainable without some sort of external funding cause the local one was already running at a loss before 2020 according to their website.

Not all recipes are online though, I’m guessing OP meant something like r/old_recipies just without the Reddit part

There are bigger problems that I agree need to be solved but I’m not personally that verbal about them. But the one I complain about the most has got to be potholes.
In the UK farmers are responsible for maintaining the hedgerows between the road and their fields so I feel like they should also be responsible for filling in the potholes caused by their heavy machinery and the cow shit left behind when they’re moving cattle.

I’m in the uk too but I’m out in the northern countryside, just to get to the village newsagents is a 15-20 minute walk and it’s about 12 miles to the nearest supermarket. Even in the UK there are places where you have to drive to almost everywhere.

Gen Z is a lot older than you think, early gen Z were around when fax machines were still common. Gen alpha maybe though.

Ah I read it as terribly named places for some reason
damn shutting down on the exact day my account finally hits two years, guess it’s time to finally look for another instance to use
