Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•720p x264 vs 1080p x265English
11·3 months agoBased on the TRaSH Guides, x264 is better for 1080p content and x265 is only worth it for 2160p and above. But I don’t know how they would compare in the case of 720p x264 vs 1080p x265. I think I would prefer 720p x264 if it had a higher bit rate.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•AirVPN vs Mullvad which should I use?
3·2 years agoI think they meant to say that Gibraltar is a territory that belongs to the UK, which is true
That’s a major red flag for a VPN

Privacy@lemmy.ml•AirVPN vs Mullvad which should I use?
5·2 years agoWhat mainly seemed to me a motivation to use AirVPN was the price, 30€ per year with the halloween discount vs the 60€ per year of Mullvad was a good incentive, but seeing so many people criticizing AirVPN without much basis I was worried about making a bad decision, thanks for the great support.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Is it safe to use MIG Switch for pirating?English
4·2 years agoYeah but the moment you connect it to the internet you’ll be banned because there’s a file inside the nand that saves if you’ve used unlicensed software.
The Nintendo ban only prevents you from accessing Nintendo servers so by disabling internet in your switch forever you are just basically banning yourself

This might not work for you, but at one point I had three HDDs running all the time in my small apartment. What I did to keep my sanity was set up a schedule in qBittorrent so that it completely stopped at night and used most of my bandwidth the rest of the day. I also recommend setting up permanent seeding with Hardlinks and auto-deletion when it reaches a certain ratio (this may differ based on how popular your torrents are). In my case, it was 10:1.
