I’ve just discovered Dragon Quest 7 reimagined. It’s the perfect end of the day burnt out from work fun that doesn’t get too serious.

What are the uses for these? Is it talking to someone you know or more like CB radio where you talk to the public?

No… They won’t. But the rest of us free thinkers will. Is it a win? I dunno. I’ll carry that flag tho.

There’s a huge bet that most of us are going to boycott this tomfuckery and do no further business with EA.

I would rent that movie for at least once.

I’ve recently deleted all my accounts except here - Now I look guilty by lack of social media.

I’m astounded at all the distros I’ve never even heard of and yours takes the top prize. Also didn’t even know it was immutable but for a gaming only device that fits my bill for the two pc’s I’ve put it on.

No, I didn’t see one when I installed - think you are correct. Myself I’m an Ubuntu man for my gaming laptop but I prefer not to say because of the haters.

Gamer? Bazzite recently impressed me.

Been gaming on PC since 1984 - in no way shape or form is it “fun” to be forced to spend money to complete a part of a game. It’s a shakedown. This is also why I would never spend a dime on anything Ubisoft.
As a guy without ADHD this has always amplified my drinking. I can get to sleep while trashed. Turns off the mind. In my 50s I’ve tried to sub geeky audiobooks like the Aeneid or true crime…not always effective.Sometimes the book will end leaving me in silence and if I wake in silence I might as well be up. It’s a shitty thing to go through. Especially your entire life.

I am a nerd without money - I have 3 drives 2 that live offsite. 6gb humble spinny drives. Everything that’s important to me gets copied to these drives- I’m not using any fancy software - its a cut and paste job from a few Linux laptops and a desktop. I still have all my original wav file and games backup from 1998 with this method ( though then they were on 10 zip discs ) It just takes a little due diligence to back up your data.

Generally though when you update Mint you won’t get bombarded with 20 UI changes and some AI crap and naggin and advertising and strong arm tactics to get you to use their cloud services.

It’s not for everyone and that’s ok.

I’ve been using Linux since 98 and never have I ever seen it in so many conversations. 18,000 windows games now run. Distros like Bazzite and the Steam OS are getting kids into Linux. My son… Windows die hard that he was just told me he is not only running Linux but has canceled all streaming services and is hosting his own server. There’s never been a better time to help people get into the fold.

If you have a game that only runs on windows right click on it go to manage and chose compatibility then pick the latest version of proton and relaunch the game. To do it globally First, log into Steam using your login credentials. Then, click on “Steam” in the top-left corner, and select “Settings”. Go to the “Compatibility” settings, then locate the “Steam Play” section. Toggle on the “Enable Steam Play for all other titles,” choose the latest Proton version from the dropdown menu, click “OK,” and restart Steam. My whole library works.

I tried out Bazzite and was pretty happy with the out of the box gaming. Think I’ll consider it for the wife’s laptop when 10 runs out. Kinda torn about giving her a dual boot with LTSC 10 and Linux or just going full in because it’ll be me on the support end.

It’s fun once you get all your stuff working and know what you’re doing. Even then it can be a challenge at times. I started in 1998 with suse Linux and it was just a brag back then.
I run a pi hole and use my laptop (Linux) connected to a projector. No hassle.
Remember doom scrolling because there were interesting and fun things to see and learn? Now it’s every bit of depressing and there’s no more Leroy Jenkins to cheer us up.
