3·1 year ago“Instead of removing 41,000 workers, the Coalition says it will now rely on natural attrition – or workers quitting their jobs – to reduce the public service.”
Oh great so instead of getting severance pay they just make your job hell and wait for you to give up and quit

1·1 year agoAfter those goddamn gates closed whilst I was halfway through and tore up my favourite pants I swore off Colesworth unless absolutely necessary. We switched to IGA and NQR and saved about $50 on our weekly groceries and don’t have to pack our own bags
Fuck Coles. Fuck Woolworths. Shop at your local independent or ALDI if you must.

Australia@aussie.zone•Guzman y Gomez isn’t the reason Taco Bell is getting axed, insists CEOEnglish
9·1 year agoI did the classic American thing of getting wildly intoxicated and then ordering Taco Bell, it was the most underwhelming fast food experience I’ve ever had. Cold, bland, soggy food that I can do better at home with a bag of chips and some minced meat.
I wouldn’t recommend it over a good old quarter pounder meal.
We support a financial institution that uses ~30MB Excel sheets with thousands of calculations and they wonder why they can’t send it via email or why it has issues when 10 people edit it at once
Just use a goddamn database

My last cert renewal was $20 for 3 years. That’s less than a dollar a month, not exactly breaking the bank.
I’d love for them to explain how, if anything the short cert validity and constant re-checking of the domain seems more secure than traditional CAs
I’ve still yet to see a decent generalized use case for AI, it just feels like an extremely complicated and energy intensive solution desperately looking for a problem to justify it’s existence.

RIP Edd, I feel like he would have made it big with adult swim just like Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel. Fuck cancer.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Valve is testing ARM64 support for popular games, sparking speculations about future hardwareEnglish
7·2 years agoOnce a truly reliable x86 translation layer is figured out Intel’s days are numbered, my mate just got a Surface pro ARM and the PRISM emulator mostly works, but it has all sorts of trouble with anything that hooks deep into Windows like VPNs and Anticheat software. The battery literally lasts all day though, sometimes more even with heavy usage which is kind of amazing.
