Okay, there’s one thing I don’t get with Bluesky: user handles usually are @[name].bsky.social. But with the bridge they end with brid.gy. The account of Ben Stiller is @benstiller.redhour.com. Are those domains different instances? I thought that’s not possible (yet?). How does one get a different domain in the handle?

Das war doch garantiert die eigene Entwicklungsabteilung! Die hatte einfach keine Lust mehr auf die miserabel geschriebenen Tickets.

Ich habe das mit zwei Kindern durchgespielt. Ich war auch verzweifelt, übernächtigt, genervt. Es sollte ganz sicher kein erhobener Zeigefinger sein, sondern ein “Vorsicht vor den Geistern, die man ruft”.

Insbesondere bei unserem ersten Kind haben wir auch etliche “Tricks” versucht wie Auto fahren, Waschmaschine, White Noise usw. Ja, das klappt ganz gut. Irgendwann wurde es uns halt zu blöd, ständig auf Hilfsmittel zurückgreifen zu müssen und wir haben uns andere Möglichkeiten gesucht, dem Kind beim Einschlafen zu helfen. Beim zweiten Kind haben wir uns die Hilfsmittel einfach von Anfang an gespart. Hat auch gut geklappt.

Vielleicht liegt es an meinem Bekanntenkreis, aber viele der Eltern, die ihre Kinder förmlich auf diese Hilfsmittel konditioniert haben, hatten später halt die Situation, dass sie das Kind dann wieder entwöhnen mussten. Von außen betrachtet kam der Stress dann einfach zeitversetzt zurück. Daher rührt meine Warnung.

Das ist alles anekdotisch, das gebe ich gern zu. Letztlich muss jeder einen eigenen Weg finden, mit den eigenen Kindern umzugehen.

Ich behaupte, das etabliert bzw. verstärkt nur eine Gewohnheit, die später zum Verhängnis wird. Das Kind würde auch so schlafen. Wenn aber immer der Staubsauger läuft, weil das zwei Mal zufällig geklappt hat, dann braucht das Kind den Lärm irgendwann tatsächlich. Das zu ertragen und dann später wieder abzugewöhnen, ist super anstrengend. Je mehr Mist wir unseren Kindern früh und ungefragt angewöhnen, umso mehr glauben sie auch zu brauchen.

(Schreikinder ein bisschen ausgenommen, da bei diesen die Belastung für die Eltern einfach nochmal ganz was anderes ist.)

I used it. It was a nice idea but at least for me it got really weird over time. The pics I got were mostly blurred messes. Maybe it was an error on my side but it kind of spoiled the fun after a while.
