I spilled tea on mine and killed it. I think it was about 10 years old at that point. It was the pro model with the volume knob in the top right corner and a USB 3 hub. It was great except it had shiny keycaps after only a couple months.

Houseplants@mander.xyz•My houseplants have small dead bugs around them, what are these? 🌿🐜
5·2 months agoNah. Just water as normal. A few doses with mosquito dunk infused water is all it will take. I find the treatment will last at least a few months to prevent them from returning. If i do see more later on just one dose in previously treated soil is enough to get rid of them.

GBoard, before I switched, was like 95% accurate. I could trust it for blind typing. Heliboard with the google library is maybe 70% accurate and frustrating. “typing” in that last sentence was first “topping” the second “ripping” before I tapped it out.
To this day nobody is as good as Swype was. RIP.

Which, honestly, I find unacceptable. To let something that has the possibility of trashing their reputation to fester for 3 days while their audience has idle time to speculate and spread the issue is just irresponsible. Surely such a risk deserves priority treatment. They’re not new at this. I’m doubly disappointed.
Would love to have one without the labels. Perfect wallpaper material. Is the source somewhere in nasa.gov?

The models with the oval bottom just have that cap pressed into the end with two small clips on the long side of the oval. Deforming the oval into a circle and using a small flat blade screwdriver to pry it out is usually all it takes.
I’ve successfully desoldered the battery for recharging before. We had one go so completely flat the wireless charging wouldn’t work. Putting the battery in an external charger brought it back to life. It was in service for another couple years till a drop in the brush end ruined it.

Android@lemdro.id•Poll: Which abandoned Android phone features do you miss the most?
5·10 months agoBecause too many reviewers and buyers complained about “foreheads” and “chins”. As soon as the big makers went edge-to-edge in all four directions with notches/holepunches for cameras everyone else hopped on the bandwagon.

Politics@beehaw.org•ABC News Suspends Correspondent Terry Moran Over Trump Post
27·1 year ago“The thing about Stephen Miller is not that he is the brains behind Trumpism,” Moran wrote in his since-deleted post. “Yes, he is one of the people who conceptualizes the impulses of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy. But that’s not what’s interesting about Miller. It’s not brains. It’s bile. Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater. You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate. Trump is a world-class hater. But his hatred only a means to an end, and that end his his own glorification. That’s his spiritual nourishment.”

I can’t speak for the others, but I know that there are hardware security features GOS requires that aren’t present in non-Pixel phones. It’s not so much that they don’t want to work in other hardware, but that they don’t want to lower their security standards to do so.
