Of course we’ve heard of bookmarks! Infact we used to use them a whole lot back when we were young. We really started quite organized, but as life changes over the years and decades, bookmarks become irrelevant or lost or unmanageable. You have multiple machines that died, multiple phones lost or abandoned, multiple browsers that you have here and there.

And yet, bookmarking a tab requires that I apply immediate effort in deciding how to organize this tab for eternity and within the framework of the rest of my bookmarks so I’m able to retrieve this bookmark should I need to in the future and yet keep the entire collection relatively clutter free. So again it’s all so much effort for not much gain.

Lastly, I still need to clarify an important point is that keeping a tab open is like keeping it open in your head - like a neuron in your brain holding that important information should you need it. It’s like a jigsaw piece waiting for the rest of the pieces while you are constantly problem solving and not wasting time in pointless organization. One day those those jigsaw puzzles will click together. Trust me, I’m a professional problem solver ;)

Closing a tab requires that I apply immediate effort in deciding that I’m never going down this path ever again till the end of time, and yet I risk future regret if I ever want to reference a closed tab. So much effort for so little gain - tidiness for the sake of it. If you become cool with clutter, then these open tabs are different pieces that help understand and solve bigger picture problems.

Across all my machines and browsers, I think I might have over 10k tabs that I’ve opened but never closed.

I’ve had similar experiences - endless tiring bad faith discussions. I sincerely believe market socialism is a realistic step we can take to improve human condition, but they seem convinced against it and hell bent on ‘revolution’. It’s clearly a cult with group think, they’ve arrived at their conclusions by reading theory, not from personal experience, self awareness, empathy & logic.

It’s okay to doubt; doubt is natural for those who question and those who reflect, you are way ahead simply for reflecting, and choosing to live your life by being honest to the principles you feel are important.

Anything you own ends up owning you or something like that.

Btw, why do you care what others think? Aren’t you free? Didn’t you do this for yourself and not to impress anyone? You should be secure in your rationale for living your lifestyle.

To assume that everyone would make the same choices, when presented with the same opportunities, is simply not congruent to the patterns of human behavior that we see in reality, regardless of era or culture.

Show me what patterns you’ve seen, but from my personal experience and reflection, this is incorrect. We can’t control the opportunities, and we can’t control our motives, hence we can’t control our behavior. You will do what you were gonna do.

Yep, ASD. We are intelligent. We are perfectionists. We take our sweet time to learn about the world around us. Once we’ve learnt about something, we are quite sure of it, & hence we’re strongly opinioniated on things we know. Stupidity, and not being able to see things correctly may even ‘trigger’ us, & hence we can come across as arrogant. We can see the forest for the trees, but we lose our minds because the rest of the world only sees the trees for the trees.

You sound like someone on the ASD spectrum - honest, principled, not confirming to social norms, overthinking. You had to mask to survive, yes, so obviously there is a facade, but that don’t make you a thief. You are thoughtful & intelligent, & capable of using logic to steer the conversation, but that don’t make you manipulative. You are honest man with morals, how can you not be kind? Why don’t you consider yourself a nice person?

All labels create division, intended or not. There is oneness in all living beings, we know this when we are born, but by the age of 5, we develop our own identity, we see the you & I as separate, the haves & the have nots, & suddenly we have two-ness. Early Eastern religions also taught this.
