Also looking at the front page for a second I don’t see a single feature that sets it apart from DataGrip/IntelliJ (except for less DB support.)

I’m taking this as a promise, non-ironically. I just want it to be true.
Every fucking year someone gives me a new year with a lot of promises how good the new year will be. But the only sure thing is, I’m getting older.
I could have gotten a slightly used 1996, but nooo, I got a new 2026.
Shall I stay or shall I go now?

6·2 months agoI tried this on “Can you read this”, pasted the result in chatgpt. It told me it’s zero with noise mostly. I asked it to decode that - and it did. This is as useful as posting with thorns, but more wasteful.
Applying “kinetic sanctions” to Russian oil exports will wean the world off oil and save CO2 in the long run.
In totally unrelated news, here in Germany - after the political clusterfuck of the last years about heat pumps has silenced - in 2025 heat pumps more and more become home owners heating system of choice.
And I don’t worry about blowing these depots up to drive back the aggressor in a war in an manner of ecology, I do worry about fossils still being one of our main energy sources.

6·2 months agoI even don’t care about trust or whatever drama of the day is going on with LTT. I’m just sick beyond any measure of all that clickbait shit.
Wanting to quip, but answering very seriously as this is important. I go to the loo before, so if I need to pee during, it’s not normal and already an emergency.
Important:
When you’re trying out any kind of bondage, always make sure there’s someone around taking care in an emergency.
Read up on how to do bondage with quick release built in. (For example keeping medical scissors around to safely cut ropes)
There’s all kinds of stuff which rarely happens, but if it does there’s urgency. Medical problems, fires, everything else where you need to quickly vacate the room where you are in.
If you are bound someone needs to regularly check on you and keep in call for help distance.
In fact ropes are one of the really dangerous bdsm toys. Go to workshops where you learn how to use them safely.
(I had a wrist injuriy once due to badly applied ropes. Fortunately it healed after a few months and was just minor. But it was enough to make me scared and directly safeword out of the session when the ropes are not done safely on me)
That’s interesting. “I’m not into puppy play.” (Note the quotes)
What that really means I find it really hard to shut off the rest of my brain and focus on just “being” a dog. There’s at least a meta-commentary track running in my mind all the time.
Another commentator mentioned they needed pain or mind games along bondage, yes that’s what I didn’t mention - I also need some kind of sensory deprivation along (blindfold or so) and at best some noise canceling head phones with a very specific kind of music track that’s helps me lose any feelings for the passage of time.
So I’d like puppy play, if I could also “just arrive in the moment” there. I didn’t learn that, yet.
But this subdiscussion is diverging quite a bit from the original post. Still, I feel it’s still about the same state of mind.
I can’t do that on my own. No way. So I’m into BDSM and bondage.
Yes, bondage is just my way to be able to. meditate. (Ok, it’s being fixed in a decently comfortable position, having trust to who binds me, not being able to Houdini myself out and not knowing how long it takes)
It’s 90% relaxation and 10% sex.
I caught something rare once, cutaneous leishmaniosis.
I had to go to a special doctor for tropical medicine associatied to the university.
The doctor asked if I mind, and as I didn’t she called in a couple of students.
“Look, this is a typical lesion of leishmaniosis, the red wall and a sore in the middle…”
Explaining to them, what they’d need to look out for.
I’m cleaning.
I’m turning on the tv to have some background noise while I clean.
Ah, it’s late, let’s go to bed after watching TV.
Why the fuck is there a bucket filled with water and cleaner on the way?

6·6 months agoThat’s what I was wondering for quite some time for developing a recreationa… aaaaah medical device using an esp32 that can control other hardware over Bluetooth. A sttetch sensor or pressure cuff might work, but it might be nicer not to have it work like a blood pressure measurement machine.

I saw your username first.
Then I misread the rest as a Mallard Reaction.
In elementary school my son would not memorize addition and multiplication and just use strategies like this.
That became a problem later on as we just can handle a finite number of intermediary results in our brain, so just memorizing the tables reduces a lot of mental load for calculation in your brain.
Another thing that helped him a lot was just writing down intermediaries on a piece of paper.
Btw it was a bit similar for me, I just got the table memorized perfectly and got faster doing simple calculations in my mind than using a calculator when I was training the multiplication and addition tables with my son.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Just finished Hogwarts Legacy, it was enjoyable but could've been better.
61·8 months agoI’m currently still playing it - just because I got it on PSN. I’m not at all into the Harry Potter lore, ok one boring weekend I watched the films and they are OK - but it’s not my kind of topic at all.
So as a non potter fan: The game is absolutely beautiful, combat is ok I agree but all those side quests are not creative, they are frequently boring - as in many meh open worlds. (I enjoy open world, Witcher 3, Horizon - much better)
I think Legacy had better followed a system like the modern God of War, where the story drives what you can access.
Because it’s so beautiful I explored the full map as soon I had a broom, so no there’s no sense of wonder having the story play in a new part of the map.
Having played far cry, I started taking out camps just for fun early - as soon you can get invisible you can just cheese a lot of the enemies. All that combat feels disconnected from the story, they could have just left it out.
Learning new spells in class is like cool on one hanf and feels like one of my nightmares where I’m back in school on the other. The tasks you need to complete for each, come one collect a potion buy some stuff - didn’t they have better ideas.
Probably a lot could have been made out of the school situation with all the shenanigans between pupils, but the game is so fucking politically correct they won’t even play pranks on each other.
We’re the teacher’s pet. Yaaawn. What about being on a mission while everyone sees you as a no good troublemaker?
Still overall a really OK game, but not great.
