  • Why would they not include these into base kit Windows is beyond me.

Some of them felt a bit buggy when I last time used Windows, maybe they aren’t fully ready to ship (like Samsung’s Good Lock apps?). And most features didn’t do quite what I imagined it to do, but that’s probably a “me problem”.

  • back in the XP days, I used a software called “Unlocker” just for this problem. It probably still exists, I don’t know, because since Windows 7, the easiest way to find out what process locks a file is to open Resource Monitor (Start search: resmon) and on the CPU tab, using the “Associated handles” list, you can search for the file name and see the process in question (and kill it).

So yeah, Resource Monitor is a useful tool on Windows.

  • I was about to buy a Pixel 9 Pro XL at my carrier and use Graphene with it, but unfortunately the Pro XL version got discontinued or I don’t know so now only the Pixel 10 variants, 9 and 9a are available. (Strange that the Pro XL got pulled only).

Now I can’t decide should I wait for Graphene on Pixel 10 or just go for the 9.

I mean, 9 would be probably more than good enough, but that +4GB of RAM that the Pro XL (and 10) has are keeping me back from buying the 9.

I probably don’t even need 12GB RAM, but my previous phone also had this much and if I buy a new one, an upgrade here and there would be nice.

  • I settled with Plasma. It has its fair share of issues, mostly minor things compared to coming from Windows and its environment. But you really can customize it the way you want and it’s relatively comfortable, so I’m fine with it. I still miss the old KDE3, but I’m not that hardcore to use Trinity. Not even sure how’s Trinity nowadays.

Gnome 3 is just not my world, at all… at least, for desktop. I kinda use it on my htpc if I need an environment. That, or Xfce. I can imagine on a palmtop pc or other portable device that runs Linux, either with or without a touchscreen Gnome could be a pretty decent choice. Also, I’m sure I could/would get used to it if there’s nothing else, but there are other options so I’m not going to sit down and get to (re)know Gnome, tho it’s not like I’m against it.

  • yeah, that’s what I heard, too.

funny thing is that I haven’t seen any of them, still know everything about it, thanks to 9gag through osmosis.

for a long time, this is why I decided not to watch any of thr movies, as I never would be able to experience it as first time.

but now, since I’m a bit older I know that’s stupid, it’s just some movie so I’ll watch those eventually with gf.

  • Not really. I like to have it most of the times with me - even at home. I just like to feel its weight in my pocket.

But that doesn’t mean I’m using it always, only if there’s really nothing else, I check the few apps I use then read articles and shit or mess with Termux.

According to Samsung’s weekly reports, I use it less and less each week.
