TL; DR most of the estimates are based on modeling. This article highlights a short documentary about a mother in a refugee camp whose daughter died of malnutrition after USAID support was removed. While in the hospital with the child, her other children were not getting food. It’s heartbreaking and indicative of the cruelty of the policy change AND how it was implemented.
