Awesome! Thanks for your kind words. I’d love a report on what you notice as you play with it.

Knows his noses.

I’ve been using Brave browser just for YouTube and it avoids ads
I found some last fall and posted about it here on lemmy.
I agree with you about the taste and texture, both underwhelming. I imagine if I had a bunch to experiment with I could learn to make them tasty, but my first try wasn’t great and I’d rather eat button mushrooms from the store.

This was a fun rabbit hole to go down! I tend to agree with most of the takes here on Lemmy but the complete AI derision is pretty wild and unfounded in reality. I have plenty of concerns about the tech but to say it’s useless you’d have to really not even have tried it out to see for yourself. I appreciate your patience, dedication to the truth, willingness to explain, and experimental attitude here.

Yes! I also can’t stand the feeling of dry hands/feet, getting them dusty, or lettuce rubbing against lettuce 🙀
There’s a lil aphid-free sprout in the middle

Loved “A Short Hike” and every kid I’ve shown it to got hooked!

I think people underestimate the mental health benefits of never thinking about whether number you can’t control or predict go up or down.

I’ve always loved the Middle Ages as a preferred setting and I found this game to be incredibly awesome. I installed the save game mod pretty quickly and got very far in the game. I found the combat a bit frustrating and mostly just cheesed it by spamming thrust, which worked ok until some big battles toward the end where I got stuck and gave up.
I would like to revisit and finish it before buying #2 when it goes on sale but I’ve tried a dozen times and can’t get past that battle. Any tips besides loading an earlier save and getting stronger? I might just watch a let’s play from that point but I would like to finish the game myself.
My mother has a partially shame based operating system. She uses self shame as a motivational tool that increases her executive function, e.g. she manages to diet by responding to the part of her that tells her to eat chocolate with shame for wanting chocolate. She avoids the chocolate and goes on with her life.
She tried to install that same operating system in me. Due to my shame sensitivity it paralyzed me and left me unable to function. Instead I would spiral in shame and self hatred for my inability to do what she wanted me to do, even though I wanted to do it too.
My system actually works pretty well with love as motivation instead of shame. It just took me 15 years of intensive commitment to inner work to unravel the shame.

It’s wild, way more mushrooms than I’ve ever seen. Huckleberries came super early and are much bigger than usual. Climate change is wild.

You’re in for a treat! I tend to still prefer the parser based EGA versions for nostalgia reasons but it’s very well done and faithful to the original.
I’m longing for another play-through thanks to you! Maybe I’ll go fighter then paladin instead of my usual magical thief.

So, you want to be a hero?
Probably my most replayed game, along with Betrayal at Krondor.
Have you checked out the excellent remake of QfG2?

Here’s the link to download the game: https://bean-adventure-agency.itch.io/the-booze-of-monkey-island

I wear earplugs daily and nightly due to a sensory disorder and recently tried a new kind that’s by far the best from the many I’ve tried in terms of comfort. They’re also excellent in noise reduction.

Ditto. I just farted to look into this yesterday and found the trash guides. It was pretty incomprehensible and I gave up. I hope to come back to this thread later and see that someone has explained how to set this up simply.
404 media seems to be doing good work.

I love this idea. I feel like it would give Lemmy some of the old forum magic of long historical threads.
Imagine every time a repost happens the comments are additive instead of separate. It would keep posts and conversations alive to have them continue to surface and be upvoted anew.
I really think you’re into something brilliant.
Thanks for checking it out and commenting. I agree with your first two sentences.
I disagree with your second point around the metaphysics being ridiculous and “wrong”. I suppose that’s the fundamental point I’m making, that the commonly agreed upon metaphysics of our globalized culture (dualism, materialism, consciousness as epiphenomenon of matter) are both incorrect and at the root of the metacrisis, and the debates about AI consciousness are based on the wrong fundamental premises.
As for “even more sycophantic”, that is incorrect in my experience of experimenting with this prompt over the last month.
