I was also blown away the first time I’ve seen bioluminescent bacteria on some strip algae…you would pass your finger by them and see the hidden binary encoded alien messages

World News@lemmy.ml•Why top internet sleuths say they won't help find the UnitedHealthcare CEO killer
912·1 year agoyou know you can help by explaining the error after your remark, right?
Won’t somebody think of the poor CEO’s?!
you probably meant “CEOs” as in referring to the plural of “CEO”. when you use “CEO’s”, you are using a possessive form to refer to a CEO as in “CEO’s lack of dignity” or “a CEO’s rolling head”

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How to get started with pirating music (mp3s)?English
41·2 years agothe main way i get music files (320kbps mp3) is through the Soulseek network, which many commenter have mentioned. what has been left out is the best client to get into that network, that is free and open source software, which is Nicotine+. it work on any desktop OS
torrents are still valid but you won’t find many artists there

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What is the best cheap cell phones that support Lineage OS (or your perfected Privacy rom)?
1·2 years agoyes, they do (redmi the same as other xiaomi phones) and that’s an important thing I left out.
I did create an account long ago with an alias email that i’ve used for the unlocking of several phones’ bootloader. it also requires a phone number for “verification” when you start the unlocking process, so for anonimity you’d need an unregistered burner phone number
so it does leave a trace in their books

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What is the best cheap cell phones that support Lineage OS (or your perfected Privacy rom)?
5·2 years agoin case you go for a cheap new phone, around here the best option are some Redmi ones. recently got a Redmi Note 9 and slapped LOS on it for a friend, for about 170€. since none are very recent models, sometimes I had to spend a good time searching for them in shop stocks
