Only 10% of people are genuinely good. 10% are genuinely evil. Last 80% are situational whether they do good or evil.

Greentext@sh.itjust.works•Annon is confronted with the pasing of time and the inevitablity of his incoming deathEnglish
1·24 days agoI just realized that most of the people commenting online are younger than me now and it made me more chill in reading all those comments now. (No, this is not me coping with the feeling of dread due to being reminded of my own mortality).
There’s actually a research that sometimes it’s just not in their brain capacity to be more technically savvy.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Programmers are no longer needed!
11·5 months agoWell to be fair if you’re a programmer in the 70s you might as well be a genius.
Just run Distrobox if you want to run something outside of flatpaks.

4·7 months agoMy friend who works in marketing usually try to find out the hiring manager and also emailed them directly while also providing something similar to the commenter above (3-month marketing and content plan instead of a sample project) and it’s basically 100% success rate for getting a response for him.
What if I want to screenshot my cocaine-fueled rant to my ex and mistakenly send it to said ex instead of my homies?
And now people are accusing you of using ChatGPT.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•What do you call your production branch?
110·9 months agoWhat about
joe? Because the engineer who bootstrapped the project mistakenly put his name as the mainline branch and we realized it far too late during the lifecycle and the team decided to keep the branch name because it’s hilarious.

6·9 months agoWell, you can’t exactly say I hacked into company A, B, and C once in a job interview.
Fuck by chapter book I thought they’re talking about Warhammer 40k novel about a specific Space Marine chapter and they’re disappointed because they don’t want to read 40k novels.
For me, it’s been a net negative (I think). But I wouldn’t have been with my loved ones if I don’t have ADHD.
It helps with pattern recognition and one of the main aspect of intelligence tested on IQ tests are pattern recognition, so it might inflate the IQ scores of people with ADHD and gives the impression that they’re smarter than the average person?
Also, lots of early primary school stuff can be easily deduced by pattern recognition. I coasted school until I hit high school, which I think a lot of people here can relate.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Youtuber PewDiePie is going all in on deGoogling and the Steam Deck is one of the surprising tools that's helping him to 'escape'
6·10 months agoI think he’s already set for life and he’s doing YouTube just for fun. I’ve heard that other YouTubers said that PewDiePie is incredibly wealthy because he invested a large percentage of his income on his heyday as a YouTuber. Looking back he only have two editors at most working at his videos and didn’t do “flexing” content.
But the point is that he won’t be able to reach people if he didn’t post on YouTube. He already kicked up a storm on the move to Linux video and this kind of exposure really helps with the general population.

I don’t know but Path Tracing makes CBP2077 and Alan Wake 2 looks like a real next gen game.

+1 on Kinestop. It having a horizon line helped with my motion sickness immensely.
