A decade late, but still earlier than me! They have been on my wishlist for a long time. Should get around to them soon.

An Epic win for Steam!

What are the chances that it was shut down because of the unionization, vs just bad timing?

I believe so, except in review build it was a minor who was riding it, and we don’t know what else was there in the “interactive dialogue sequence”

I came in to read what caused Valve’s fall from grace, but nope, still the good guy.

JRPGs can be annoying to play multiple times.
Civ 6 (or some other strategy game like Age of Empires) and Factorio are great choice for this though.

Well, it’s good to know I am not the only weird one 😀

I can understand. Sometimes this causes me to play the starting area of the game multiple times, just to make sure I chose the right starting class etc.

Why did you drop BG3 before?

I loved the first one, but the second one has much bigger rooms, you often die before even seeing your enemy.

I have been waiting for Cave Story+ to go on a sale for so long, I don’t think it’s every going to happen. Will just have to buy it at full price some day.

It was never sustainable, they threw in tons of money to disrupt the market and get subscribers share, and now that they have done that as much as they can, they are trying to get the money.

Switch 2 is bigger than Switch 1. I am not very comfortable taking it outside home yet, still use my old Switch 1 for that. So, this could be one of the reason.
And yeah, it would be interesting to see how long it keeps this momentum.

First year is always for enthusiasts and is supply constrained, not demand constrained. This price was high but within expectations, even then, I know people who only play on Switch but haven’t upgraded due to this.
We will see the real effect from next year. If it keeps this momentum or significantly slows down.

I’ll be getting the collections on Switch, hopefully that port is also good.

I want to give old ones a try, but I am also afraid they would be too difficult for me now. Maybe if I can pickup older collection at good sale.

Porting studios should get recognition too. Kudos to M2!

I have never played a Castlevania game (or a Metal Gear game) so plan to buy collections for both and give them a try.
Good to hear that at least some of the games still hold up well.

I don’t think I have thought about it like this. I prefer digital, but it’s purely from ease of use point of view.
For me it’s where do I want to play this game? My preference is: Handheld console -> Home Console -> PC
As for PC, Gog used to be my goto platform a long time ago, but then reduced their Linux support and Steam started focusing on it, so I switched to Steam 100%, but I play very little on PC, so practically speaking this doesn’t make too much of a difference.
So, with current systems that I have, this becomes something like: Switch -> PlayStation -> Steam.
As for the discussion between owning and renting, I used to be a collector, but with time, don’t care about “owning” games too much, for 90% of the games I’ll play it once for 30-40 hours (or 90-100 hours if it’s a long RPG) and then probably never touch them again, at least not for next decade or so, so whatever let’s me enjoy that legally, at the cheapest rate, is fine for me.
I do have some opinions about Gamepass, but that is how it effects the ecosystem, so not sure if it’s relevant here or not.
Not a Destiny player, but I think I saw some trailer for this.
