i would disagree. progressive movements in Spain have a very different history and the population is much more aware of socialism, worker organising etc.

Spain I would say is one of the more progressive EU states. You probably saw Sanchez making statements against Israel’s genocide or US war in Iran. There has a been waves of social movements in the recent past too, especially around the issue of housing. However I think the communist left has had a hard time capturing this energy. Anything on the left of PSOE is very fractured, but also I think people are afraid of rocking the boat too much, since the far right is on the rise. So a lot of potential, but the future is very uncertain. No idea what will unite the communist left.

there are a ton of socialist orgs in spain. if i were you i would look at whats in your area, attend some marches, see who is there / where you feel more connected to the people

yes, so is Izquierda Unida, but i know less about them

For veganism, I found that when you start it’s a don’t hesitate to eat more volumes of food. Beans are protein dense, but for other vegetables you often just need to eat more to have a proper caloric intake.
For communist orgs, PCE (communist party of Spain) is very solid.

DSA is very decentralized. There are solid branches in some areas, so it really depends what’s closest available to you. PSL is also really solid. I won’t know the details of how an org works before you join. That kind of information is not public. And if you don’t like it you can just leave. It’s not like you are giving your life to it.

what is the worst that could happen if you join an org?

more education focused though, but maybe they will pivot in the future or you can make some good connections

I have been following this org in the UK and i like their output: https://www.climatevanguard.org/

unfortunately its just that lemmy is not very properly indexed, you are not doing anything wrong. i imagine fixing search is planned for some future update.

you should approach everything with a critical lens. don’t accept writing as dogma because someone told you its the absolute truth.

weird for iskra to publish since they also publish a full collection of stalin. i kind of trusted iskra to be better

I wrote a comment on that recently

this is a general assembly resolution, which means that it is non-binding. the only binding resolutions are passed in the security council, where US has a veto (this is where the Israel-Palestine related resolutions have been failing to pass for the past two years if you recall). this exact general assembly resolution has passed for 33 times now.

Утро в тебе

The sense of self is completely omitted in the Butlerian view of gender (as a performance), in that as a (cis) man if I acted (performed) like a woman and put on women’s clothes, then that theory states I would be a woman.
This is not what performative means!!! Gender is a social construct! Why wouldn’t it be? Gender being a social construct doesn’t make it less real. I guess everyone is an amateur social scientist nowadays and basic concepts just can meet whatever.

i think that a lot of former socialists were socialists because of peer pressure. (at least in europe) in university there are a lot of socialist clubs, reading groups etc., and some people hang out in them because they are lonely, not because they believe in the cause or something.
