The corporitization of linux continues. I jumped to BSD. Just linux at work now.

Our cats really like the electric heated pillows to lay on. We keep the house ~60F so if we’re out for a significant period of time, the hot water bottle wouldn’t work. Plus good luck getting a kid to hold on to a hot water bottle while moving around.

I hate this hand-holding. Certainly use venvs for dev projects but allow system-wide installations for those that want it. OSS has always been about giving you enough rope to hang yourself.

Do these dreams require remote work? When we bought a house, proximity to public transportation and centers of employment were large considerations. How can that be resolved if some people working in “the big city” while others work remotely and others work in an exurban location?
